Jaime Ffrench, WR (Texas commit)

Much of the noise surrounding the threat of Florida potentially flipping five-star Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin wide receiver commitment Jaime Ffrench from the Longhorns has calmed down late this week. Florida hosted Ffrench for an official visit last weekend for the LSU game at The Swamp in Gainesville.

Texas getting Ffrench back out to Austin for an unofficial gameday visit at DKR for the Kentucky game this Saturday afternoon is huge to really quiet down the possibility of Florida flipping him on signing day in a couple of weeks.

At this point of his recruitment, I'd expect that Ffrench has really locked-in with his commitment to wide receivers coach Chris Jackson and the Longhorns entering signing day on Dec. 4.

Kade Phillips, DB (LSU commit)*

The reason why there is an asterisk next to the name of five-star Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Hightower defensive back Kade Phillips is that he is a "maybe" for the Kentucky game visit tomorrow. One-time Texas pledge and LSU commit Phillips would be a huge recruit for the Longhorns to get to campus this weekend.

Inside Texas reported this week that Phillips is potentially going to take an unofficial gameday visit to Texas this weekend for the Kentucky game.

If Phillips does show up on campus this weekend for the trip to Austin, it becomes a viable possibility for Texas to push him to flip his commitment back from LSU to the Longhorns.
