It's starting to feel like these stories could turn into a weekly addition.
Once again, five-star wide receiver and Texas commit Easton Royal has given the Longhorns reason to worry that he could flip his commitment from the Horns to another program.
This time around, it was the LSU Tigers circling the waters once again.

It has been common knowledge that he planned to visit the Tigers this weekend, but a countdown posted to his Instagram story, featuring a picture of Royal and LSU head coach Lane Kiffin, seemed to only build anticipation around the visit.
Easton Royal's love for Lane Kiffin is concerning at best
Throughout Royal's recruiting process, he has shown admiration for Kiffin, especially since the head coach took over in Baton Rouge, leaving the Ole Miss Rebels to coach the Tigers earlier this year.
However, Kiffin isn't the only coach in the SEC going after Royal, despite the wideout being committed to the Longhorns since November of last year.
Royal is also being heavily recruited by the Tennessee Volunteers, Florida Gators, and even the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Simply put, Texas is fielding attacks from just about every angle in order to keep Royal in its recruiting class.

Similarly, Royal isn't the only Longhorns commit or target that Kiffin and the Tigers are going after. Earlier this week, it was announced that four-star Texas commit Greedy James booked an official visit to LSU, just days after four-star Texas target K.J. Green canceled his trip to Austin to opt for a visit to Baton Rouge instead.
Obviously, with a name and history like that of the Horns, there are going to be incredibly talented players in every recruiting class. That means that there are always going to be head coaches looking to poach Texas's talent.
Royal had four official visits scheduled over the spring and summer, closing things out with a trip to Austin, which is a good sign for the Longhorns.
Easton Royal official visit schedule
- Ole Miss Rebels - May 1, 2026
- LSU Tigers - May 29, 2026
- Florida Gators - June 11, 2026
- Texas Longhorns - June 19, 2026
However, Kiffin's consistency at actually making some of these flips happen is concerning, and Royal's continued hype around the Tigers should have Longhorn fans on edge.
