Sean Miller has done an incredible job bringing in top talent to the University of Texas since taking over the Longhorns' men's basketball program. With the No. 1 transfer portal class in the country and an increasingly promising class of 2026, the Horns are looking better than they have in a long time.
Now, Miller and the Longhorns are set to host the No. 8 prospect in the class when small forward Anthony Thompson heads to Austin this fall.
Thompson, who had already narrowed down his list of teams to seven, announced six official visits over the next two months, including one to Texas.
5-star SF Anthony Thompson official visit schedule
- North Carolina Tar Heels - August 22
- Ohio State Buckeyes - August 29
- Michigan Wolverines - September 5
- Indiana Hoosiers - September 12
- Texas Longhorns - September 19
- Kentucky Wildcats - September 24
Despite including the Purdue Boilermakers in his final seven schools, Thompson did not schedule an official visit with the Big Ten program, even though high school prospects are now allowed to take OVs to as many programs as they want.

Thompson's visit to Texas will be his second to last of the fall, only followed by a trip to Lexington to visit the Wildcats and their head coach, Mark Pope.
The young small forward is an Ohio native, growing up just a couple of hours from the Ohio State Buckeyes' home in Columbus, which he will visit at the end of August. He is also scheduled to visit the Tar Heels as well as the Buckeyes' rivals, the Michigan Wolverines.
Notably, Thompson will take a trip to Indiana to visit the Hoosiers just before heading down to Austin for his OV with the Horns.
Thompson has a busy eight weeks ahead of him, and Miller has the opportunity to land a five-star prospect that could put Texas basketball back on the map.
