5-Star Texas WR commit Jaime Ffrench officially visiting UF
Per On3's Corey Bender, five-star Texas football wide receiver commit, and elite Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin product Jaime Ffrench has scheduled an official visit this weekend to see the Florida Gators in Gainesville.
Florida working to pry away 5-Star Texas football WR 2025 commit Jaime Ffrench before signing day in a few weeks
This news comes just a week after Ffrench took an unofficial gameday visit to Texas to see the Longhorns dominate the Gators at DKR in Austin on Nov. 9, by a score of 49-17. He is now scheduled to watch Florida host the LSU Tigers in The Swamp in Gainesville, FL, this upcoming weekend.
The Gators are close to home for Ffrench, and have heavily prioritized his recruitment over the past few months. Despite his commitment to the Longhorns over the Miami Hurricanes, LSU, Ohio State Buckeyes, Florida State Seminoles, and Florida back in late August of this year, the Gators have remained in communication with Ffrench on the trail this fall.
Texas has recruited multiple prospects from the Sunshine State in the past couple of cycles, including four-star IMG Academy running back Jerrick Gibson, four-star IMG Academy safety Jordon Johnson-Rubell, and high-four-star Edgewater running back CJ Baxter Jr.
It doesn't sound like there is much to worry about regarding the status of Ffrench's commitment to Texas at this moment. But it's still something worth following that Ffrench is taking an official visit to Florida with head coach Billy Napier so close to signing day, which begins Dec. 4.
In the era of NIL and social media, things are changing faster than ever on the recruiting trail for these elite high school prospects entering college football. Ffrench is also from the state of Florida, which matters in context to the discussion of this late-cycle official visit to see the Gators this week.
Texas has an elite wide receiver class for 2025, which also includes commitments from Sachse (TX) five-star Kaliq Lockett and Lucas (TX) Lovejoy four-star Daylan McCutcheon.
