Despite flying fairly under the radar locally, the top wide receiver recruit in the 2027 class, Monshun Sales, is currently on campus today and tomorrow for a visit.
The 6'5", 200-pound receiver from Indianapolis' Lawrence North HS has been one of the most dominant pass-catchers at the prep level for two seasons now. His ability to dominate defensive backs at the catch point with both aggressiveness and rare size has been attracting FBS coaches like sharks to blood.
The next Mike Evans-type player?
Very few high school receivers have the type of body control that he does while in the air, and he's consistently able to shield defenders away from the ball near the sideline. Watching him go up for balls on deep fades is beautiful to watch.

Alabama, Indiana, Ohio State, and Miami are also firmly in the mix...

Texas WR coach Chris Jackson appears to be doing everything that he possibly can to gain some recruiting momentum with Sales, and it appears to be working. Though he hasn't officially stated his current "top 5" yet, it appears to be Indiana, Alabama, Ohio State, Miami, and Texas.
The Longhorns were kind of late to the party here, but as previously mentioned, whatever they're doing appears to be having a real effect on the elite wide receiver prospect.
If Steve Sarkisian and Co. can leave a lasting impression on Sales during this visit, it'll go a long way in determining whether or not Texas has a legitimate shot at locking him up before or on National Signing Day. Imagine adding a player like Sales to a receiver room that currently contains the likes of Cam Coleman, Ryan Wingo, Kaliq Lockett, and Daylan McCutcheon in 2027.
Not many programs would have that great a wide receiver group, and it would provide whoever starts at QB in the post-Arch Manning era, either K.J. Lacey or Dia Bell, another dominant pass-catcher to throw the ball to.
