Another Texas player joins Jerrick Gibson in leaving the program

It appears as though K Will Stone has been granted a redshirt and will leave the program alongside Jerrick Gibson.

The Longhorns were dealt a pretty big blow yesterday when RB Jerrick Gibson decided to request a redshirt and notified Steve Sarkisian and Co. that he plans on leaving the program.

Though Gibson has had a bit of trouble with fumbling since arriving at Texas in 2024, he was still one of the best short-yardage backs on the team and was responsible for a couple of big plays this season. Longhorn Nation wishes him nothing but the best, and everyone is incredibly interested to see where he ends up transferring to.

Unfortunately, K Will Stone has chosen to do the same as Gibson and leave the program. It looks like the team's current kickoff specialist wants to find a place that will give him a chance to be the full-time placekicker. He was currently backing up Mason Shipley, and it didn't look like he was going to overtake him as the starting kicker anytime soon.

It'll be interesting to see if the local Austin, TX product decides to leave the state or transfer to another in-state FBS school.
