Fox Sports college football analyst and former Big 12 quarterback Joel Klatt discussed Arch Manning and his overall ability on yesterday's episode of The Joel Klatt Show.

Manning is undoubtedly one of the hottest topics in college football this season, and to be honest, he's been a fairly hot topic since his senior year of high school due to his famous last name. Though there are a lot of critics out there because of the simple fact that he hasn't really "done anything" yet, the potential and traits are definitely there.

Klatt said that Manning's performance in 2024 reminded him of another quarterback who was pretty good in college football recently.

"He reminded me a lot of Trevor Lawrence when Trevor Lawrence was at Clemson."

He goes on to describe how Manning is able to affect the game both with his arm and athleticism but doesn't need to rely on his legs to make him great. Klatt mentions that Arch's ability to spread defenses out with his arm talent is what makes him so good as a quarterback, even mentioning that he's a better threat in this area than Quinn Ewers was for Texas.

"Then you have the aspect that he can threaten the grass on the field to a greater extent that Quinn Ewers did. Ewers was a really good player, I loved Ewers. But Manning makes throws that I think scared defensive coordinators versus just "yeah he can make the throw". He can threaten the outside numbers from the far hash, down the field."

What Joel Klatt is ultimately saying throughout the podcast is that Arch Manning is the real deal, and he's pretty much a perfect mix of arm talent and athleticism. Defenses can't just sit in traditional coverage shells all day because Arch would be able to rip off chunk runs.

Texas officially begins fall camp today, and we can't wait to follow Manning and this offense over the next couple of weeks.
