Aside from commenting on the current state of the offensive line, Texas HC Steve Sarkisian mentioned Cam Coleman today for the first time, and it played out exactly as Longhorn Nation had hoped.
Sark absolutely gushed about the way Coleman is as both a person and a worker since he's been on campus after transferring in from Auburn last month.
Sarkisian didn't hold back when it came to Cam Coleman's impact
"What an awesome individual. This kid is an awesome kid, and he hasn't disappointed since he's arrived.
This guy's going for it. He came here with real intentions. He wants to compete for a national championship, and he wants to put himself in the best position to get ready for the NFL. He came to a pro-style offense for a reason."
This was undoubtedly everything that Texas fans wanted to hear, and the fact that Sarkisian just let everything out like that really makes us feel good.
Coleman was the No.1-ranked wide receiver in this year's transfer portal, and he figures to have both an immediate and an enormous role for the Longhorns' offense in 2026. His uncanny ability to win deep is what makes him such an elite prospect, and he'll give Arch Manning a new type of weapon this season.
Texas hasn't had this caliber of player in the wide receiver room for a while now, and Longhorns fans will be able to see and feel his impact immediately in 2026. Very few pass-catchers at the collegiate level can consistently create the type of separation that Coleman can, and if things go as planned, Coleman should be in the running for multiple postseason awards following the 2026 regular season.
