Steve Sarkisian just finished up his first press conference of 2026, after recently arriving back home from vacationing with his family. Amongst the most interesting things he talked about was the offensive line, a topic that Texas fans have been waiting to hear about for at least a month.

Ever since Texas signed offensive linemen Melvin Siani, Dylan Sikorski, Jonte Newman, and Laurence Seymore in the 2026 transfer portal, things have been pretty quiet in the trenches, from both a discussion standpoint and an acquisition standpoint.

Thankfully, Sarkisian mentioned those guys today during the presser:

"I feel very good about the additions of Melvin, Dylan, Jonte, about Laurence. I feel good about the young players who have come into our program already. I feel good about the guys coming off of injury. I feel very good about Andre Cojoe coming back. I feel very comfortable with that group."

Though there wasn't much detail, it was nice to see him mention the new players as well as guys like Andre Cojoe. Cojoe was once thought of as a starting-caliber player for the Longhorns, and a lot of people forgot about him coming back this year. It'll be interesting to see how things shake out during the spring for him.

If Laurence Seymore doesn't get his eligibility waiver approved, do we see someone like Cojoe competing at offensive guard alongside Dylan Sikorski in a couple of weeks? Cojoe definitely has the power and mindset needed to play inside, so a scenario like that wouldn't surprise me at all at this point.

Sarkisian was also asked about whether or not Texas is done accepting transfers this year, to which he responded:

"unless something crazy happens, I would imagine we're done. Never say never, though."

His response, as well as following the Longhorns' moves as of late, makes it seem like they actually are done adding transfers this year. This is completely fine, especially regarding the offensive line, because they did a whole lot more in the trenches this year than they did in 2025. Texas most likely found at least two starters up front via the portal.
