Coach Sark gets honest about Arch Manning and Texas’ 2025 wide receiver depth

SEC Media Days have finally arrived and, per usual, Steve Sarkisian was asked a few excellent questions surrounding the 2025 offense.

SEC Media Days are always exciting for fans because you finally get to see your team's head coach and players for the first time in six to seven months, depending on how your team finished the year. Aside from the Steve Sarkisian-Aggie War Hymn insanity, it was a pretty insightful and positive day for Coach Sark during his time at the podium.

When asked about Arch Manning in his initial round of questioning, Sarkisian responded with:

""He learned a lot over time. For Arch, he grew up in this era of seeing high level football. He's watched Super Bowls. He's watched gold jackets get put on. He's been to playoff games. He's been recruited at the highest level as the No. 1 player in the country. He watched Quinn (Ewers) navigate through the ups and downs of being the starting quarterback at the University of Texas. I think the one thing that you find out about Arch is he's got a very even keel about him, he's very quick witted, he's got a great sense of humor about himself, and he's okay to laugh at himself.""

This wasn't the first time we've heard about Manning being "even-keeled" when it comes to his mindset or how he carries himself. It's no secret that his head's in the right spot, we just have to see him prove it on the field.

Part of performing well on the field is going to be dependent upon his supporting cast in 2025, in which Sarkisian had this to say about his wide receiver group:

"DeAndre Moore is the leader of that group who played a ton for us in the slot. Ryan Wingo was a true freshman last year who probably in a lot of other schools had more opportunities, but when you had the room we had, he was very efficient. Had a bunch of catches in critical moments for us. We're excited about him. We brought in Emmett Mosley, a transfer from Stanford who had 50 catches as a true freshman at Stanford, who we're excited to go along with a really good recruiting class and a group of young guys"

Something that hasn't been talked about enough is how solid Texas' receiver group is right now. Ryan Wingo, Emmett Mosley V, DeAndre Moore, Parker Livingstone, and blue-chip true freshmen Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench could form an upper-echelon group of pass catchers in 2025.

Sark hasn't been afraid to rave about his receiver room this offseason, as he just commented on how much he liked it last month.
