The world of college football loses it after Aggie War Hymn greets Steve Sarkisian

Just before Steve Sarkisian spoke at the 2025 SEC Media Days, the wrong fight song played over the speakers, and the internet exploded.

The internet collectively lost its mind during SEC Media Days. However, it wasn't because there was some hot take by a coach or a bold claim from a player.

It was when the conference played the wrong fight song as Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian took the stage. The fight song that was played? None other than that of the Horns' most bitter rival, the Texas A&M Aggies.

Of course, following the ultimate mistake for the conference, everyone (Texas fans, Texas A&M fans, and haters of both programs) had to share their thoughts online.

Sarkisian has only coached the Horns against the Aggies once, and led Texas to a 10-point victory over Texas A&M. Despite the 100 percent win rate against the Aggies, the Longhorns' head coach can't seem to escape their rivals.

Of course, the SEC itself was ripped to shreds for making the mistake, switching Texas's fight song, 'Texas Fight,' and Texas A&M's fight song 'The Aggie War Hymn.'

People also had jokes about the mix up, suggesting the people in charge of the soundtrack decided between Oklahoma's fight song and A&M's fight song to get under the Horns' skin at their second-ever SEC Media Days.

Surely, it had to be noted that Sarkisian had already led his team to the SEC Championship. Meanwhile, in the 13 years since joining the conference, zero Texas A&M coaches had taken the Aggies to an appearance in the conference's title game.

People even learned, for the first time, that almost the entirety of Texas A&M's fight song focuses on the Longhorns. Meanwhile, Texas's fight song just talks about how undeniably awesome the horns are.

This season, Texas and Texas A&M will play on Friday, Nov. 28, at 6:30 p.m. CT. It will be the first SEC meeting between the two teams in Austin, as the Longhorns and the Aggies will kick off from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
