The Las Vegas stretch of the 2026 NBA Summer League has arrived. With it comes former Texas Longhorns guard Dailyn Swain's first opportunity to show off his skills at the next level.

Swain was selected 15th overall in the 2026 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls, just a few spots after they drafted former North Carolina Tar Heels forward Caleb Wilson. Now, the pair is set to take the Summer League by storm.

However, Swain isn't the only former Longhorn to grace the hardwood this summer, joining five other former Texas men's basketball players in doing so.

Swain and former Texas teammate Tramon Mark, who signed a free agent contract with the Phoenix Suns, are the two rookies in the group, joining second-year players Tre Johnson, Arthur Kaluma, and Jayson Kent, as well as third-year player Max Abmas.

  • Dailyn Swain, Chicago Bulls, rookie
  • Tre Johnson, Washington Wizards, year 2
  • Tramon Mark, Phoenix Suns, rookie
  • Max Abmas, Utah Jazz, year 3
  • Arthur Kaluma, Los Angeles Lakers, year 2
  • Jayson Kent, Portland Trail Blazers, year 2

Johnson was Texas's only first-round draft pick last year, taking his talents to the Washington Wizards, where he averaged 12.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game during his rookie season. This year, the expectations for the sharpshooter are even higher.

Abmas, Kaluma, and Kent were signed as undrafted free agents after their tenures on the 40 Acres. Abmas, who has the most experience of the group, has spent the last three seasons with the Utah Jazz's G-League team: the Salt Lake City Stars.

Kaluma was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2025 and has since played for the organization's G-League team: the South Bay Lakers. Kent was signed by the Portland Trail Blazers in 2025 and has since played on a two-way contract for the franchise, earning 2.0 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.

The Las Vegas leg of the Summer League will stretch from Thursday, July 9, through Sunday, July 19, and will feature all 30 NBA teams. The Longhorns will be part of six of those 30 teams.
