The Longhorns, alongside Miami, are actively trying to flip 2026 blue-chip cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick from Georgia.

Flipping recruits from one school to another is an extremely hard thing to do for anybody, but Steve Sarkisian and Co. have proven that they can do it on multiple occasions. Most recently, they were able to flip 4-star defensive tackle James Johnson from Georgia during SEC Media Days.

It goes without saying that if the Longhorns can find a way to flip another UGA commit in the 2026 cycle, the Bulldogs' coaching staff might have a mental breakdown.

St. Thomas Aquinas HS (Fort Lauderdale, FL) 4-star CB Justice Fitzpatrick committed to Georgia on June 3rd, following his official visit on May 30th. Texas' coaching staff believes that the younger brother of NFL safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is committed to Georgia, but not really committed.

One of the biggest reasons why the Longhorns think that Justice Fitzpatrick's committment with the Bulldogs isn't set in stone is because he took an official visit to Austin on June 13th. When a recruit commits to a school as has basically shut down their recruitment, they'll either announce it on social media or they'll cancel all of their scheduled visits following their commitment.

It's obvious that Fitzpatrick's not 100% in on Georgia right now and both Miami and Texas have apparently pounced on the opportunity to sway him in their direction. He has even told Marcus Benjamin of Rivals.com that both the Longhorns and Hurricanes are hot on his trail right now.

If Texas can find a way to flip Fitzpatrick, he would undoutedly make up for the team's "miss" on 4-star defensive back Davon Benjamin, who committed to Oregon last week.

According to 247sports.com's composite rankings, Fitzpatrick is the No.4-ranked cornerback in the 2026 cycle, and he'd be the Longhorns' 8th-highest ranked recruit in the next year's class. There's a chance that Texas might lose both Malik Muhammad and Jaylon Guilbeau in 2026, and someone like Fitzpatrick has the potential and skillset to step in right away and play meaningful snaps as a true freshman.
