Sean Miller is rapidly closing in on yet another recruiting win for the Longhorns. Recently, Miller and the Texas men's basketball team were announced among the final five schools to land the No. 2 available from the class of 2025.
Shelton Henderson, a former commit to the Duke Blue Devils, decommitted from Duke and reopened his recruitment process. On Saturday, April 19, it was reported that Henderson was down to his five final schools.
Henderson included the Horns alongside the Texas A&M Aggies, Miami Hurricanes, Kentucky Wildcats, and North Carolina Tar Heels. The five-star small forward is reportedly set to announce his decision on Monday, April 21.

Henderson is the No. 17 overall player in the country according to On3 and the No. 5 small forward in the country. The Texas native was part of what had been the No. 1 recruiting class for Duke, a ranking which will undeniably drop with the decommitment of Henderson.
Shelton Henderson high school varsity stats
- 51 games played
- 21.0 points per game
- 7.2 rebounds per game
- 3.9 assists per game
- 2.9 steals per game
- 1.5 blocks per game
Henderson was a menacing presence on both ends of the court during his high school career as he averaged 21 points and 3.9 assists per game while also contributing 2.9 steals and 1.5 blocks per appearance. Not to mention, he averaged 5.3 defensive rebounds and 1.9 offensive rebounds per game.
Currently, most crystal ball experts are leaning towards Henderson committing to the Hurricanes, but the Texas native had a positive recruiting process with the Longhorns before he ever committed to the Blue Devils.
