For the third year in a row, guard Ryan Conwell has entered the transfer portal. However, this season, Conwell is coming off an incredible season with the Xavier Musketeers, and his former head coach, Sean Miller, moved to the Texas Longhorns.
Conwell, who started his career with the USF Bulls before joining the Indiana State Sycamores and eventually the Musketeers, played his junior season for Miller at Xavier and announced he had entered the transfer portal on Friday, March 28.
Throughout his junior season, Conwell earned 16.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game for the Musketeers, while averaging 33 minutes per game as a starter.

Conwell is one of three big-time players who contributed impressive numbers at Xavier and still maintain eligibility, making them viable options for Miller to poach from his former program. Alongside Conwell are sophomores Dailyn Swain and Trey Green.
Miller, who coached at Xavier for the last three seasons after spending over a decade as the Arizona Wildcats' head coach, was officially named the newest coach of the Texas men's basketball team on Sunday, March 23. He and his wife joined the Longhorns' athletic director, Chris Del Conte, in Austin just two days later on March 25.
Whenever a head coach leaves an athletic program, the team's players have a 30-day window open in which they can enter the transfer portal to either follow their former coach to their new program or join another program entirely.
It is not guaranteed that Conwell, or any other Musketeer, will follow Miller to Austin, but the point guard already entering the transfer portal is far from a bad omen.
