During the SEC matchup between Texas and Georgia on Saturday, defensive back Andrew Mukuba went down with an apparent knee injury during the fourth quarter and didn't return for the remainder of the game.

Mukuba, a transfer from Clemson, has been a defensive star for the Longhorns this season and his expected absence from next week's game will force some adjustments upon the Texas secondary.

On Monday, just two days after the game, it was reported that defensive backs Jahdae Barron and Jordon Johnson-Rubell would receive snaps at the safety position while Mukuba is sidelined.

As of now, Mukuba is listed as questionable for Texas' visit to Nashville during Week 9. The No. 5 Longhorns are scheduled to face the No. 25 Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday, Oct. 26.

So far this season, Mukuba has accounted for 25 total tackles, including 18 individual takedowns, 2 pass deflections, and 2 interceptions for the Texas secondary. He had one interception on Georgia quarterback Carson Beck on Saturday before suffering the injury.

Barron, who is expected to help fill the hole left by Mukuba's absence has 26 total tackles, 5 PDs, and 3 INTs – including the controversial interception call against Georgia. Johnson-Rubell, a true freshman, has played in just five games so far this season and has earned six total tackles.

Texas and Vanderbilt are scheduled to kickoff at 3:15 p.m. CT on the SEC Network. Already this season, the Commodores have taken down No. 1 Alabama and the Kentucky Wildcats.
