Quinn Ewers thinks he needed to be pulled in the second quarter against Georgia

Quinn Ewers struggled in the first half against Georgia, it's just that simple. He threw an interception and failed to find the end zone a single time through the first two quarters.
In fact, it got so bad that head coach Steve Sarkisian yanked him out of the game during the second quarter and put in backup quarterback Arch Manning.
Apparently, getting pulled was exactly what Ewers needed because he led Texas on two touchdown-scoring drives once he returned to the game after halftime. While he was able to find his footing, and ended the game with more than 200 passing yards, it wasn't enough to take down the Bulldogs.
After the game, Ewers acknowledged that getting pulled from the game seemed to be exactly what he needed.
"They were gonna give Arch [Manning] a shot," Ewers said. "Just give me some time to settle down."
Ewers shared that Sarkisian didn't tell him that he may return to the game until the team was in the locker room at halftime. When asked if he felt like he needed to be pulled from the game during the second quarter, Ewers answered simply, "It seems like I did."
By the end of the game, Ewers had earned 211 passing yards and completed 25 of his 43 pass attempts. However, his interception and -34 yards on the ground tanked the quarterback's rating for his performance.
Despite Georgia quarterback Carson Beck throwing three interceptions and zero touchdowns on Saturday, the Bulldog earned a QBR of 64.3 while Ewers fell to 23.9 and Manning earned an abysmal 14.8 QBR.
