Coming off a massive offensive performance where Texas basketball scored 121 points in a dominant 121-57 win over the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions on Dec. 15, head coach Rodney Terry's squad is set to host the New Orleans Privateers at the Moody Center on Thursday night.
The insane 121 points the Longhorns scored in the win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff last weekend was the most Texas has put up in a game since the 2003-04 regular season.
Texas (9-2, 0-0 SEC) hosts New Orleans (2-7, 0-1 Southland) for the fourth matchup ever in the series history between these two teams on the hardwood. This is also the second-to-last tune up game for Terry and the Longhorns before SEC play begins on Jan. 4 against Texas A&M.
The final non-conference game before SEC conference play begins in a few weeks is against the Northwestern State Demons at the Moody Center on Dec. 29.

Texas vs. New Orleans prediction
Texas's offense has been consistently-dominant against non-Quad 1 and 2 teams in non-conference home games early this regular season. The Longhorns have scored at least 90 points in the past three home games against Quad 3 and 4 opponents.
The goal now for the Longhorns is to continue to find more cohesiveness and identity on the offensive end of the floor. Texas was missing freshman guard Tre Johnson in the lineup due to a hip injury in the win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 15.
Texas got big performances from freshman power forward Nic Codie and junior guard Jordan Pope, combining for over 35 points in the win over the Golden Lions.
Another big offensive performance should be in store for Texas after New Orleans allowed over 100 points to the Iowa Hawkeyes on Dec. 15.
