The day has finally arrived for the Texas Longhorns to throw out their first pitch in their first-ever SEC Softball Tournament.
For their debut appearance in the conference's postseason showdown, the Horns received byes through the first two rounds, automatically punching their ticket to the quarterfinals as the No. 3 seed.
Of course, Texas's rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners, earned the No. 1 seed (spiting the Longhorns once again), followed by the Horns' other rival, the Texas A&M Aggies, as the No. 2 seed. First up, Texas will face the No. 11 seed Ole Miss Rebels, who are coming off an upset win over the sixth-seeded Florida Gators.

The end of Texas's regular season was the definition of a rollercoaster as the Longhorns were swept by the Oklahoma Sooners, just to turn around and sweep the Kentucky Wildcats. So, Texas is currently on a three-game winning streak despite the abysmal performance against OU.
Ole Miss and Texas did not face each other in the regular season. The winner will move on to the semifinals on Friday, May 9 at 5:35 p.m. CT. The SEC Softball Tournament championship game is scheduled for Saturday, May 10 at 4 p.m. CT.
