For the fourth time this season, the Texas women's basketball team will face the reigning national champion South Carolina Gamecocks. For the first time, the Texas Longhorns will face South Carolina in the Final Four, the Horns' first appearance in the penultimate game since 2003.

In the regular season, the two SEC teams split their matchups, but in the conference championship, the Gamecocks walked away with the SEC title. Now, the two teams are fighting for a spot in the National Championship game, where they will face the winner of the UCLA-UConn game.

When Texas and South Carolina met in the SEC title game, the Gamecocks held the Horns to just 45 points while scoring 64 points of their own. However, South Carolina is only favored to be Texas by a handful of points.
