Baxter has been at the team facility doing everything he can to rehab his injured hamstring, but it looks like he's officially been ruled OUT for today's matchup against Oklahoma. According to the official SEC availability report for today's game, he's the only Texas player who'll be out for the Red River Rivalry.
On a positive note, this marks the first week that the Longhorns haven't had multiple players listed on the game day status report.

On the contrary, Oklahoma's side of the report is littered with impact players such as John Mateer, Keontez Lewis, and Logan Howland. All three of these players have been key contributors or starters for the Sooners, and Mateer is the "heart and soul" of the offense.
Though he's listed as probable for today's game, it would be crazy if he actually takes the field. Not only would his throwing hand have to be 100% healed, but Brent Venables and Co. would have to believe that there's an extremely low chance of re-injury. I'm not sure how they could even put him on the field this soon after surgery/rehab without being deathly afraid that he'll just reinjure it again and thwart the team's chances to get to the postseason.
Let's see what happens heading into today's matchup, which should be one of the best games of the day as long as the Longhorns' offense can find a rythm early on.
