Last year, the impossible happened. Texas wide receiver broke the NFL Combine record in the 40-yard dash when he recorded a blazing 4.21-second finish, shaving 0.01 seconds off of John Ross's previous record.

Now, fellow Longhorn wide receiver Isaiah Bond is ready to challenge and apparently break Bond's record that has only stood for a year.

"I’m going to break the 40 record tomorrow," Bond said while speaking to the media ahead of his day on the field. "I’m going 4.20, possibly 4.10."

To put Bond's time into better context, some of the best athletes in the NFL ran significantly slower than the former Texas wideout. Running back Saquon Barkley recorded a 4.38, wide receiver Tyreek "Cheetah" Hill ran a 4.29, and yet another Longhorn WR Marquise Goodwin when he hit the 4.27-mark.

To shave 0.01 seconds off of the record is already impressive enough, but to go into the dash with the belief that he could possibly break Worthy's record by a full millisecond is beyond impressive.

There is no denying that Bond is quick. He streaked past cornerbacks and safeties all season long as he spent his one year with the Horns, and he did more of the same during his two seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Bond and his fellow wide receivers will take the field on Saturday, March 1, alongside running backs and quarterbacks, as they all look to further boost their NFL Draft stock during on-field skills challenges and drills.
