As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches in just under a month, college pro days are in full swing. This Tuesday, the Texas Longhorns held their pro day, featuring standout players such as quarterback Quinn Ewers, defensive back Jahdae Barron, and wide receivers Isiah Bond and Matthew Golden, among others. While many athletes showcased their skills effectively, one player truly distinguished himself: running back Jaydon Blue.

In late February of this year, Blue expressed his optimistic outlook, stating, "I think I'll break the 40 record … 4.1 or 4.20," during an interview with The Athletic. The current record is held by his former teammate and Chiefs wide receiver, Xavier Worthy, who set the mark at 4.21 seconds last year, surpassing the previous record of 4.22 seconds held by WR John Ross in 2017.

Although Blue did not break the record, he still delivered an impressive performance with a time of 4.38 seconds. While it wasn't the result he had hoped for, it was still commendable. At the pro day, Blue revealed that he had been coping with a grade II groin strain, which an MRI later confirmed to be a tear, as reported by CJ Vogel.

During the pro day, Blue showcased his speed by clocking a remarkable 4.28 in the 40-yard dash on his first try and an even faster 4.25 on his second attempt. It's astonishing to think he achieved these times while dealing with a torn groin.

I believe these impressive 40-yard dash results will boost his draft stock, especially when combined with his game tape that highlights his explosive running style and effectiveness as a receiver. Any team that selects him will be getting a true gem. He has already scheduled visits with several NFL teams.
