'Knock on wood', Sarkisian's latest comments have Texas fans breathing easier

Sark recently spoke to the media about how things have been going in spring practice, and his responses couldn't have been better.

The two best things that a fanbase could possibly hear from a head coach during spring practice have to do with health and development. Unlike the last couple of seasons, Texas fans were incredibly happy and relieved to hear that both of those categories are trending in the right direction as of last night.

Sark was able to address the team's current injuries, as well as how the health of the team is looking as of right now after two spring scrimmages.

He said that DL Justus Terry is finally "out of his sling" and that "everybody is on track" including WR Emmett Mosley V, who is currently doing everything except team drills. The only player who'll be out with a longer-term injury is true freshman OL Kaden Scherer, who underwent surgery in March.

One injury that Sark didn't specifically mention though and is a fairly big one is WR Kaliq Lockett, but it sounds like his surgery went well, and that he's currently set to be back by the summer.

The fact that the Longhorns haven't had any major injuries or setbacks arise in spring practice is an incredibly relieving thing to see. Nothing but good things have come out of camp when it comes to both offense and defense, and now that it's confirmed that they haven't been hit with the injury bug, it's all become even sweeter.

It's so frustrating to hear about the team sustaining injuries that end up nagging them throughout the entire offseason and into the regular season. It's even worse when you see a serious injury take place, as it did with OL Andre Cojoe last year, who could've potentially been the saving grace for the Longhorns along the offensive line had he not been out for the entire season with a torn ACL.

Like Coach Sark said, let's all knock on wood that the team stays healthy for the rest of the offseason.
