Landen Williams-Callis and Noah Roberts may become most dynamic RB duo in the nation

The Texas Longhorns' recruiting class of 2027 is filled to the brim with some of the top talent in the nation, and that includes blue-chip running backs Noah Roberts and Landen Williams-Callis.

Roberts, a top-20 prospect at the position, and Williams-Callis, the No. 3 running back in the recruiting cycle, are two of the most highly touted recruits in Texas's class, and as their final season of high school football has kicked off, they have already looked primed to take over at the next level.

Roberts, who plays for Basha High School in Chandler, AZ, helped his team dominate in the first game of the season.

As his team's RB1, it came as no surprise that Roberts was one of the biggest contributors on the offensive side of the ball while his team produced a 37-26 victory over Chandler in what was a rematch of last season's Open Division title game.

The cherry on top came when Roberts earned a 10-yard rushing touchdown to cement his team's win, going untouched on the way into the end zone.

"2027 [Basha Football] RB and Texas commit [Noah Roberts] might’ve just put the Wolves to sleep," Arizona recruiting insider Adam Beadle wrote on X.

In his own season opener, Williams-Callis was genuinely everywhere on the football field, completing his singular pass attempt for 20 yards, bringing in one reception for nine yards, and (of course) earning a show-stopping 230 rushing yards for two touchdowns.

It was the 17th-straight victory for Williams-Callis and Randle High School, securing a 20-14 win over South Oak Cliff.

The two-touchdown performance brought Williams-Callis' career total to 134 rushing TDs, pushing him even closer to the state high school record, which is currently held by his cousin Jacquizz Rodgers (136).

The best news? The pair of running backs weren't the only Texas commit to put his star power on display, joined by four-star quarterback Neimann Lawrence, the No. 6 QB in the class of 2028.

Lawrence led American Heritage (FL) to a 35-28 overtime win over East St. Louis (IL), and his stat line from the performance will leave you speechless. The future Longhorn quarterback earned 356 yards for four touchdowns and threw zero (yes, 0) interceptions in the winning effort.

Sure, all of this is at the high school level, but these recruits are playing for and against the top teams in the nation, and to put it lightly, they are absolutely dominating.

Simply put, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has landed an unbelievable amount of talent for the Horns, and the program is primed to boast generational talent for years to come.
