You might be wondering how it is possible that you have found yourself reading about yet another recruiting update from five-star wide receiver Easton Royal.
The blue-chip wideout committed to the Texas Longhorns over 10 months ago. Since then, it has only been one concerning visit to another program after one concerning visit to another program (sprinkled with endless praise for those other teams and coaches).
Well, that era of Royal's commitment hasn't reached its end quite yet, and the saga of the Horns trying to keep the five-star wide receiver in their fold is set to continue for at least another month or so.
This weekend, Rivals' Sam Spiegelman and Steve Wiltfong announced four more game-day visits that Royal had scheduled, after he had already taken numerous trips over the first five weeks of the season, including one to Texas to see the Horns topple the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Easton Royal announces four additional game-day visits
- Florida Gators - Oct. 10, vs. South Carolina
- Texas Longhorns - Oct. 17, vs. Florida
- LSU Tigers - Nov. 7, vs. Alabama
- LSU Tigers - Nov. 14, vs. Texas

Technically speaking, Royal will be at two games apiece for the three teams he is set to visit: the Longhorns, the Florida Gators, and the LSU Tigers.
He will be at Florida for its game against South Carolina, and he will be at Texas when the Horns host the Gators. Then, he will be in Baton Rouge for two of LSU's games, including when the Tigers host Texas in the middle of November.
In other words, the Horns theoretically have two chances to either cement (or ruin) his commitment to Texas, and one comes on the road, in one of the hardest environments for an away team to play in: Death Valley.
Ultimately, most fans are tired of hearing that Royal has scheduled yet another visit to yet another team. Why commit to Texas just to string the Horns along?
However, as we saw last week, the Longhorns are far from giving up on Royal, with head coach Steve Sarkisian and wide receivers coach Chris Jackson visiting him in Louisiana during Texas's bye week. So, for right now at least, as long as Royal makes an announcement or recruiting insiders share an update, you could very likely find yourself reading another story about the blue-chip wide receiver.
For now, let's just hope that the Horns keep winning, and that includes their games with Royal on the sidelines. But, you were probably hoping for that to happen anyways, right?
