The rumors of Steve Sarkisian leaving Texas have been swirling around for a few weeks now, and despite Sark addressing them, they continue to persist. In one of his most recent press conferences, he decided address them again, this time really hammering home that it's not happening.
"People reporting or insinuating that there’s a possibility I could leave the University of Texas -- and that’s absolutely false and untrue. I am not going anywhere".
He then goes on to talk about how his family is here, that his children currently go to school at Texas, and other things like that. Despite doing this to seemingly comfort fans and make them feel better about him staying in Austin, it looks like it triggered the opposite type of reaction from Longhorn Nation.
It's performative. He has nowhere to go. He's just like Belichick.

Good. He has squandered booster money and talent. Let him stay.

If I sucked at my job and nobody was courting me, I'd also say I'm not going anywhere.

What a bold statement!
To be 100% honest, these reactions were pretty surprising to see. The fact that probably 80% of the responses were like this doesn't bode well for the fanbase's trust in Sarkisian right now.
Though surprising, it's definitely understandable as Sark's made a few big mistakes this year. In the offseason, he completely ignored the offensive line room when there were plenty of starting quality players available in the transfer portable. It's not hard to see that Texas' offensive line has been it's biggest downfall in 2025, and it was obvious heading into the year that it would be.
He also dropped the ball in a few crucial situations that could've led to losses earlier in the season against Mississippi State and Kentucky. Longhorn Nation will have that long-developing trick play that Sark called on 3rd & 2 burned into their mind for eternity. There was absolutely no reason for him to get "cute" on that play and waste the team's opportunity to put up points on the opening drive.
This season has been filled with frustration and tension, and it's obvious that Steve Sarkisian is feeling it. He's been incredibly awkward and standoff-ish in his media pressers and is short with a lot of his answers.
A good way to gain the trust and confidence of Longhorns fans would be to finish out the season with two big wins against Arkansas and Texas A&M over the next couple of weeks.
