Texas women's basketball took on No.13 Baylor in the Sprouts Farmers Market ESPNW Invitational.

This was Texas's biggest matchup since taking on the Tar Heels in Austin on December 5th. Things got off to a contested start as Baylor did not want to miss an opportunity to hand the Longhorns their first loss of the season. However, Jordan Lee and Madison Booker were too much to handle in the 89-54 win over Baylor in Fort Worth.

Jordan Lee and Madison Booker decided that it was time for the bears to hibernate after they combined for 53 points this afternoon. The Longhorns also forced 30 turnovers in today's game. You could tell Baylor's coach wished there was a running clock in the fourth quarter after watching Texas go in for uncontested layups.

Give credit to Baylor for giving Texas some fits in the first quarter. In the opening minutes of the game this afternoon, that zone really confused the Longhorns. It wasn't until Texas settled down that they got to work finishing the quarter on a 21-2 run.

Here are four takeaways from this afternoon's win against the #13 Bears:

1. Rori Harmon is a true leader

The Longhorns wouldn't have won the game without Harmon's leadership. She was bringing the ball up the court and wasn't afraid to make the extra pass, so one of her teammates can score. Texas also wouldn't be in the position they are overall this year without her expertise as a leader. It's going to be a sad day in Austin when she runs out of eligibility at the end of the season.

2. Jordan Lee came off the bench and had a good game

I thought Jordan Lee played well against the Bears today on both sides of the ball. With all the injuries the Longhorns have right now, Schaefer has asked her to step up her game, and she's done that and more.

Even though she was a little inconsistent with her shot selection, Lee helped the Longhorns with her defense and set up her teammates on the offensive end. Without her contributions, the Longhorns probably would have lost the game this afternoon.

3. Texas Defense smothered the Bears

The Longhorns' defense was very evident in today's game against Baylor. Texas held them to 27 points in the first half, which is a season low for the Bears. Baylor couldn't get anything going on offense, and the Longhorns would capitalize on the other end. While the second half was a bit sloppy for Texas, it's something that the ladies should be proud of. Holding a team to a record low is something the Longhorns can build off of defensively.

4. Booker went off against the Bears

Madison Booker decided that she wanted to put on a masterclass on offense in front of the crowd today. She was reading the Bears' defense and exploiting them all game long. If the Longhorns want to win the SEC, Schaefer has to make sure Booker gets her looks on offense. Texas will be back at the Moody Center on Wednesday as they take on Northwestern State Lady Demons.
