Texas head coach Sean Miller has taken one step closer to bringing in another transfer recruit as former Nevada forward Nick Davidson included the Longhorns within his list of the final five schools for his next program.

Davidson, who just finished his junior season with the Nevada Wolf Pack, entered the transfer portal after their 2024-25 season came to an end with a loss in the Mountain West Tournament quarterfinals.

The third-year forward maintains just one season of eligibility remaining but could add the much-needed experience that Miller and the Horns are looking for. Alongside Texas, Davidson included the Virginia Cavaliers, Washington Huskies, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Clemson Tigers.

Nick Davidson 2024-25 season stats

  • 15.8 points per game
  • 6.5 rebounds per game
  • 2.8 assists per game
  • 1.2 blocks per game

Davidson started in 67 straight games for the Wolfpack and led the team in rebounds and blocks throughout his junior season, while averaging nearly 35 minutes per game.

The former Nevada forward's paint presence and defensive prowess would help solidify a Texas defense that struggled against big-time opponents during the postseason.

Just a day earlier, Miller lost former Texas guard Devon Pryor, who entered the transfer portal once the news broke that the program had parted ways with former head coach Rodney Terry. Pryor was the first Longhorn to exit the program and headed to Oregon, where he will join Dana Altman and the Ducks.

A couple of Miller's former players at Xavier have entered the transfer portal since he left the program, including star point guard Ryan Conwell.
