The No. 1 athlete recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking could be ready to decide soon.

Five-star San Antonio (TX) Alamo Heights athlete Michael Terry III has been considering the Longhorns, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oregon Ducks, and Texas A&M Aggies with his decision possibly approaching soon entering the fall on the trail.

Terry's recruitment has been trending favorably for the Longhorns since the conclusion of summer official visits and late-July unofficial visits a few weeks ago. Texas appears to currently be leading Nebraska and then Oregon in third place in the race to land Terry's commitment late this summer.

But Oregon and Nebraska haven't stopped fighting in this recruitment late this summer. We all know Oregon's big efforts in the state of Texas on the trail for the 2025 class over the past few months. And Nebraska has appealed to Terry with the possibility of early playing time and playing the position he wants on the offensive side of the ball specifically.

We mentioned in a piece on the site yesterday that Texas is "well-positioned" to land Terry with an expected late-August decision coming from the five-star athlete from Texas. I really like Texas's chances to get Terry in the boat in the 2025 class with him trending toward a decision as we approach mid-August on the trail.

Inside Texas's Justin Wells reported that head coach Steve Sarkisian and RB coach Tashard Choice have done a fantastic job recruiting Terry this summer, including during his official visit back in June. Wells entered an On3 RPM this week, projecting Terry's commitment to the Longhorns in the 2025 class late this summer.
