3 key injured Texas players heading into ULM
Quinn Ewers, QB
The biggest injury the Longhorns were dealt in Week 3 in the win over UTSA was to their starting quarterback, Ewers. In the first half last weekend against UTSA, Ewers needed help getting off the field after suffering an abdominal strain.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Arch Manning took over in relief of Ewers after he suffered the abdominal injury in the first half of the game. Manning did a great job leading the Texas offense in the game's final three quarters in relief of the injured Ewers, totaling five touchdowns and over 200 passing yards while not turning the ball over a single time.
During his Monday press conference, Sarkisian said that Ewers would be listed as "questionable" if Texas had to release an injury report this week before the ULM game.
"There was a non-contact deal, which we touched on. The oblique strain there. When you guys get your injury report next Wednesday when that officially begins, he would be listed as questionable."

Texas will have to release an injury report for the SEC opener against the Mississippi State Bulldogs next week. Sarkisian mentioned that Ewers is expected to also be listed as "questionable" for his status when the first official injury report for the SEC comes out for the Longhorns next Wednesday.
"We’re going to monitor him day to day and see what this looks like. But he would be questionable for Saturday on the report for next week."

Before exiting the game due to the upper-body injury against UTSA in the first half, Ewers showed excellent command of the offense. He completed 14-of-16 pass attempts for 185 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and one interception.
