As official visits have wrapped up for Texas football in late June, a bevy of announcements follow for key targets for head coach Steve Sarkisian and staff in the 2025 class in the next few weeks.

Which priority 2025 recruits for Texas football are on commitment watch post-official visits?

Since most high school recruits in this day and age like to have their recruitments done and over with before the start of their senior seasons, July and August decisions have become much more commonplace. It's made these summer official visits so imperative for Sarkisian and staff to have their ducks in a row to make sure they can keep the focus in the right place entering the fall on the field.

Texas is in a great spot to load up at many key positions of need in the 2025 class entering the fall, thanks to another successful summer official visit season this year. The Longhorns have already added a few key commitments in the 2025 and 2026 classes in the last couple of weeks.

But the action is only just starting to begin this coming weekend on the recruiting trail regarding big announcements for the 2025 class in the next couple of months. Texas could easily get over 75 percent of its commitments by the end of July in the 2025 class.

Here's a look at three 2025 recruits on commitment watch for the Longhorns in the next few days.

Josiah Sharma, DL

Decision Date: June 28

The next decision date to watch among key targets for the Longhorns in the 2025 class this summer is the highly touted four-star Sacramento (CA) Folsom defensive lineman Josiah Sharma.

The big 6-foot-5 and 305-pound defensive tackle from Northern California decides between the Alabama Crimson Tide, Oregon Ducks, Washington Huskies, and Texas. But it sounds like Sharma's decision will boil down to Texas, Alabama, and Oregon.

Texas and Alabama have been fighting it out in this recruitment during the summer official visit season for the last few weeks. Head coach Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide staff were figured to have the lead here, given Sharma's past ties to the coaches in Tuscaloosa from when he was committed to Washington.

The Longhorns have picked up some late momentum in this recruitment this week entering Sharma's Friday afternoon announcement. Most reports and discussions from the major recruiting services peg Texas as the slight favorite over Alabama and then Oregon in third place in the final stretches of here before Sharma's announcement.

But there is still plenty of time for things to shift in this recruitment in the final hours before the decision comes.

*Update

As of Friday afternoon, Oregon has started trending late for Sharma over Texas and Alabama.
