A good portion of the June official visitors for Texas football from the 2025 class have decisions upcoming (or expected to be announced) in the coming days and weeks in July and August.

Texas football has more key decisions to watch for the 2025 class this week

Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian are looking for a big bounce back in momentum on the recruiting trail for the 2025 class this week. After losing out on many key priority recruits on the defensive side of the ball for 2025 who announced last week, the Longhorns had to reset the big board at a few key position groups in the last few days.

There are a handful of scheduled commitments among official visitors for the Longhorns on the recruiting trail in the 2025 class during the July 4 holiday week. It also wouldn't' be surprising to see another few recruiting targets who officially visited Texas this summer announce their decisions in the next week or so.

With most official visits Texas will host for the 2025 cycle now in the books, upcoming decisions is the biggest storyline to watch for this class for the rest of the summer.

Here are three key 2025 recruiting targets for the Longhorns who are scheduled to announce their decisions this week.

Marco Jones, EDGE

Commitment date: July 2

Four-star Danville (CA) San Ramon Valley edge rusher Marco Jones was one of the highest-rated out-of-state official visitors at the position for 2025 among the official visitors in June. Texas is one of four finalist schools Jones will decide between when he announces on July 2.

The other three schools that round out Jones's top four are the Texas A&M Aggies, Michigan Wolverines, and USC Trojans. It sounds like Jones's decision will boil down to either Texas A&M or Michigan entering his Tuesday announcement.

We will continue to follow Jones's recruitment for updates in the final 24 hours to see if there is any movement for the Longhorns entering his commitment date on July 2. For now, it looks like College Station would be the likely destination if Jones winds up in Texas from the West Coast for his collegiate career.
