Texas Football fans can't wait for the season to kick off on Saturday afternoon against the Colorado State Rams. While they aren't a high-profile opponent like Oklahoma or Alabama, the Rams plan to give the Longhorns a run for their money.

After all the upsets we had during week zero, I wouldn't be surprised if the Rams are energized and ready to pull off a top-five upset. Montana State was paid $360,000 to play New Mexico and won. Anything is possible any given week in college football.

The Longhorns have a lot of things in their favor in Saturday's matchup. They have one of the best quarterbacks in the nation, Quinn Ewers, who is leading the offense down the field. They also will be playing in one of the loudest stadiums in the country, DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Also, they have one of the best wide receiver cores in the nation going into this matchup. Here are three reasons why the Texas Longhorns will beat the Rams on Saturday afternoon.

3 reasons why Texas football will defeat Colorado State: 3. Home Field Advantage

Texas will begin their season in Austin this weekend, which is excellent. It's the 100th anniversary of DKR Memorial Stadium, and nothing would be better than kicking off the season with a landslide win against the Rams.

The stadium will be loud to help distract the Rams from advancing down the field. The Longhorns were 6-0 at home last season, which gives the Rams an uphill battle to pull off the massive upset. The Longhorns shouldn't have an issue with playing in front of the home crowd on Saturday.

Texas vs Colorado State: 2. Quinn Ewers

I wouldn't want another quarterback leading the Longhorns this season besides Quinn Ewers. The Longhorns have a demanding inaugural SEC schedule, and Ewers has the experience to lead them to the SEC Championship game.

Ewers wants to be drafted high in the NFL Draft next April. He can start to improve his draft stock this Saturday against the Rams. What a way to kick off your senior year with a landslide victory. Ewers is another reason why the Longhorns shouldn't have a tough time beating the Rams.

Texas vs Colorado State: 1. Wide Receiving Corps

I mentioned in my three reasons why the Longhorns could win the SEC Championship this season because of the wide receiving core. It's probably the best in the nation going into week one against the Rams. My nickname for the core is pick your poison.

They have so much talent in that position that covering everyone on the field will be impossible. The main reason why the Longhorns should win this week is because the Rams' defense will have a tough time covering all the weapons the Longhorns have.
