Per On3's Hayes Fawcett, three-star Texas football cornerback target and Ruston (LA) product Aidan Anding will announce on Aug. 24.

Texas football cracks the top 3 for 3-Star CB Aidan Anding ahead of his late-August announcement

Anding will decide between three finalist schools next Saturday, including the Arkansas Razorbacks, LSU Tigers, and Texas. He officially visited two of his top three finalist schools during the summer. Anding's final official visit this summer was to Texas on the weekend of June 21.

His official visit to Arkansas was on the weekend before he saw Texas, from June 14-16.

LSU jumped in this recruitment pretty late, throwing their hat in the ring with an offer sent out to Anding after June official visits on June 28. The Tigers started trending to win this recruitment pretty soon after they extended the scholarship offer to Anding in late June.

But LSU pulled back a bit while it was prioritizing other defensive back targets in the 2025 class late this summer on the recruiting trail, allowing Texas and Arkansas to chip away at their lead in the last few weeks.

All three coaching staffs have done a good job in this recruitment. Arkansas has really sold Anding on his value and potential to play early for their secondary at the cornerback position.

LSU has many in-state connections, which is a big influence around Ruston High School in that part of Louisiana.

Texas also knocked it out of the park when Anding officially visited Austin in late June. Before LSU offered Anding on June 28, it looked like Texas was the clear favorite in the race to land his commitment this summer.

Cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph and the Longhorns currently have one defensive back committed to the 2025 class after LSU flipped four-star defensive back Kade Phillips from the Longhorns on Aug. 18. Texas's defensive back commit in the 2025 class is three-star Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall cornerback Caleb Chester.
