4 key recruits impressed by Texas's decisive win vs. ULM
Jamarion Vincent, CB
Among the blue-chip recruits from the 2026 class that visited Texas unofficially for the ULM game last weekend was the touted four-star Waco (TX) Connally cornerback Jamarion Vincent. The 6-foot-2 and 165-pound defensive back from Central Texas made his second gameday trip to DKR for a Longhorns' game early this fall. He also visited Texas unofficially for the season opener on Aug. 31 against Colorado State.
Vincent was impressed by the atmosphere and the play on the field from the Longhorns' defense in the win over ULM last weekend. He also spent time after the game with his former teammates at Connally High School, Texas defensive backs Kobe Black and Jelani McDonald.
The Longhorns are in a great spot early in Vincent's recruitment. Texas offered Vincent back in early June during an unofficial visit to Austin for the Elite Camp. He's visited Texas four times since the summer, which is more than he's been to any other school, even going back to the start of the 2024 offseason.
Vincent included Texas among his top eight finalist schools that he announced on social media on Sep. 22.
Christopher Knauls Jr., EDGE
Texas hosted a handful of rising in-state recruits on the defensive side of the ball from the 2026 class for unofficial gameday visits for the ULM game at DKR on Saturday night, including Frisco (TX) Lone Star edge rusher Christopher Knauls Jr.
The 6-foot-4 and 250-pound EDGE recruit from the DFW Metroplex was invited to Texas for his first gameday visit this fall for the ULM game last weekend. He said in a post on social media over the weekend that he had "a great gameday visit" and that he hopes "to be back soon".
Last offseason, Knauls picked up multiple P4 offers from schools like the Houston Cougars, Cal Golden Bears, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Colorado Buffaloes.
