Javion Hilson, EDGE (FSU commit)

The only official visitor for the Longhorns this weekend committed to another school is the elite high-four-star Cocoa (FL) edge rusher and Florida State Seminoles pledge Javion Hilson. The No. 1 edge rusher recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite has stayed in communication with multiple other schools on the recruiting trail in the last few months despite his commitment to FSU.

Inside Texas reported on June 6 (paid content) that the Florida Gators, UCF Knights, and Texas are the three schools competing with Florida State in this recruitment this summer.

Florida is currently in the best spot to flip Hilson's commitment from the Seminoles. Head coach Billy Napier's staff with the Gators have prioritized Hilson's recruitment going back to last year. He had a successful official visit to Gainesville to see Florida last weekend, which helped the Gators' case in the race to flip Hilson's commitment before signing day.

Texas gets Hilson's second official visit this summer. This visit should give the Longhorns faithful a good idea of where Texas realistically stands in this recruitment during his summer visits.

Hilson is the type of recruit that the Longhorns are willing to take a swing at on the recruiting trail. He's an elite edge rusher talent who the staff would take in the 2025 class regardless of the numbers at the position for this cycle.
