Who's trending to Texas football with summer visits starting up in a few weeks
The Texas Elite Camp will feature some of the top talents from the 2026 recruiting class, including blue-chip quarterback priorities Troy Huhn and Dia Bell.
And then, the first big visit weekend of the summer for the 2025 recruits will be the following week. Texas's first official visit weekend will take place from June 7-9. Texas is focusing on a mix of in-state and out-of-state prospects, largely made up of the trenches on both sides of the ball, for the first 2025 official visit weekend in June.
The first of two big official visit weekends will take place from June 14-16. Texas is already scheduled to host over a dozen official visitors in the second big visit weekend next month.
Another big-time group of official visitors are scheduled to be on campus for the Longhorns on the weekend of June 21.
The summer official visit season has become a focal point of the offseason on the recruiting trail for head coach Steve Sarkisian and staff. Texas tends to load up on commits during and right after summer official visits as most recruits like to have their recruiting processes wrapped up before football season begins in the fall.
Here are four priority recruits trending to the Longhorns entering summer official visits in June.
James Simon, RB
Texas is among the five finalist schools for a scheduled May 29 decision date for the touted four-star Shreveport (LA) Calvary Baptist running back James Simon. The other schools in Simon's top five are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, LSU Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies, and Alabama Crimson Tide.
RB coach Tashard Choice and the Longhorns are considered the favorites to land Simon entering his late-May announcement date. Simon has taken multiple successful visits to Texas since the start of this offseason, including for the spring game roughly one month ago.
Texas is also the only school Simon is scheduled to officially visit this summer (on the weekend of June 21).
