The earthshattering news on the recruiting trail that took place earlier this week was the late-night decommitment of the elite five-star Duncanville wide receiver Dakorien Moore from the LSU Tigers on May 16.

Immediately following the news of Moore's decommitment from the Tigers late on Thursday night, Texas started trending for the top in-state wideout priority. Three crystal balls were entered by 247Sports reporters/insiders within the hour after the news of Moore's decommitment on the night of May 16.

Other major recruiting services followed suit with a wave of forecasts projecting Moore's commitment to the Longhorns.

Inside Texas' Justin Wells reported on May 17 (paid content) that a decision should be coming soon from Moore. He's looking to take three official visits this summer to see the Oregon Ducks, Ohio State, and Texas. Once he takes those three officials, Moore should be ready to announce, which he wants to do before the start of his senior season.

Moore was committed to LSU since mid-August 2023. But Texas, Oregon, and Ohio State, never let up in this recruitment since late last summer, constantly trying to chip away at his commitment to the Tigers.

Those efforts paid off for the Buckeyes, Ducks, and Longhorns as each will have their shot with Moore during summer official visits in the next month or so.
