4-Star Texas OT target Nick Brooks sets commitment date
Next week is going to be a massive one on the recruiting trail for Texas football, with some big-time upcoming decisions for top-priority offensive tackle prospects in the 2025 class. Five-star Lewisville (TX) offensive tackle priority Michael Fasusi will announce his decision on Aug. 31. Fasusi will decide between Texas and the Oklahoma Sooners next Wednesday.

Another "big human" offensive tackle recruit for Kyle Flood and the Longhorns in the 2025 class, Loganville (GA) Grayson four-star Nick Brooks, will also announce next week. Fasusi and Brooks are arguably Texas's two top offensive tackle priority recruits in the 2025 class late this summer on the trail.
Per On3's Hayes Fawcett, Brooks is set to announce on Aug. 23. He will decide between three finalist schools, including the Georgia Bulldogs, USC Trojans, and Texas.
Brooks officially visited all three schools among his finalists entering his commitment date next weekend, during the summer visit season back in June. Texas was the final official visit Brooks took between the OVs he had to his three finalist schools, coming in mid-June (on the weekend of June 14-16).
Earlier this offseason, Brooks was committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes, which is one of the flagship schools in the state he's originally from. Brooks moved from Cedar Rapids, IA, to Grayson, GA, to play his senior season of high school football in Georgia.
But we've discussed on this site before that despite Brooks moving to Georgia ahead of his senior season in high school; he's still been trending more toward Texas and USC in the last couple of months of this summer on the trail.
Flood and the Longhorns had the most consistent communication with Brooks since the spring. Brooks had multiple successful visits to Texas since late in spring practice back in April and has built great relationships with Flood and the Longhorns staff.
Texas has four offensive linemen committed in the 2025 class, but no offensive tackle in the boat yet for this cycle. Flood and the Longhorns need to land at least one of Fasusi and/or Brooks to get their impact guy at the offensive tackle position in the 2025 class entering the fall.
