Texas should feel good about its chances with nearly a half-dozen official visitors who were on campus last weekend.

Defensive back recruiting in the 2025 class continued to be an important theme for the Longhorns during last weekend's official visits. After hosting three official visitors among defensive backs from the 2025 class midweek last week, Terry Joseph and Blake Gideon had the same number of guys from the secondary on campus last weekend.

The highlighting out-of-state cornerback official visitor for the Longhorns over the weekend was the underrated Ruston (CA) three-star Aidan Anding. Last weekend was Anding's second trip to Texas in the last three months. He had a great experience when he first visited Texas unofficially during spring practice in April.

Texas has been battling the Miami Hurricanes, with the Arkansas Razorbacks also involved in his recruitment in third place, since the spring evaluation period. Anding took official visits to see Miami (May 31) and Arkansas (June 14), along with the TCU Horned Frogs (June 7), early this summer.

But the Longhorns definitely hold the momentum in the race to land a commitment from Anding early this summer.

We mentioned on the site late last weekend that Anding is expected to announce in the next week or so. Texas getting the final official visit gives them a huge leg up to get the last word with Anding before he's ready to announce.

I do expect Anding to be likely Texas's second cornerback commitment in the 2025 class before the July 4 holiday next week.
