Texas basketball and head coach Rodney Terry have a big weekend upcoming on the recruiting trail in the 2025 class. In the next couple of days, Texas hosts a pair of five-star forward recruits from the 2025 class for their official visits to Austin.

Top-five-ranked recruit nationally in the 2025 class, 5-Star PF Nate Ament, will take his Texas basketball official visit this weekend

Five-star Bellaire (TX) small forward Shelton Henderson and five-star Warrenton (VA) Highland School power forward Nate Ament will both be taking their official visits to Austin this weekend.

Henderson's official visit date has been on the books for the past couple of months. The No. 1 recruit in Texas in the 2025 class in the On3 Industry Ranking will be making his first return trip to Austin for his official visit this weekend since early in 2024.

The elite small forward from the Houston area in Texas also has official visits scheduled to see the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Houston Cougars, Louisville Cardinals, Duke Blue Devils, and LSU Tigers.

Texas got its foot in the door in Ament's recruitment during the summer. Terry and the Longhorns staff offered Ament back in late June. He also holds major conference offers from Duke, Louisville, the Virginia Cavaliers, Houston, Kentucky Wildcats, Texas Tech, LSU, Tennessee Volunteers, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, among others.

The No. 2 power forward recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the On3 Industry Ranking and 247Sports Composite will be the highest-rated prospect for this cycle that has taken an official visit to Austin.

On3's Joe Tipton confirms Ament will be taking his official visit to Texas this weekend. He's also taken recent trips to see the Duke and Virginia in the past couple of months. Kentucky, Duke, Virginia, Tennessee, and Louisville will be some of the top competitors on the recruiting trail for Texas in this recruitment for the elite power forward from Virginia.
