Per On3's Hayes Fawcett, the elite five-star Texas football offensive tackle target and Lewisville (TX) product Michael Fasusi will announce on Aug. 21. Fasusi said earlier this week that he had a big announcement on social media for Friday.

For this announcement, he dropped his decision date along with his top five finalist schools for Aug. 21, including Texas, the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M Aggies, Oregon Ducks, and Mizzou Tigers.

Fasusi officially visited all five of his top schools in May and June. Texas got the final official visit from Fasusi in June (on the weekend of June 21-23).

That should give the Longhorns a leg up in this recruitment that they got the final official visit among the top five schools for Fasusi this summer.

"I love Texas, man, I’ve been there a lot of times. They never fail to impress me and my family. It’s always love when we go down there, there’s never a bad feeling there or nothing. With Coach Flood, I really feel like he’s one of the guys that can for sure get me to the level that I aspire to be at, which is the NFL. Coach Sark, he’s always texting me and my family, showing love with them, so I love Texas, definitely."

This has been one of Texas offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood's top priorities along the offensive line on the recruiting trail for the 2025 class since last offseason. Fasusi has a great relationship with Flood and the rest of the Texas coaches.

Flood has a long track record of developing high-level offensive line talent at the collegiate level for the NFL. He's also done a nice job of specifically recruiting and developing offensive tackle talent in his time at Texas as the OL coach.

Former five-star offensive tackle recruit Kelvin Banks Jr. is expected to be a top-10 or 15 NFL Draft pick in the first round in 2025 for Flood and the Longhorns.

Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma are figured to be the top three schools Fasusi decides between in late August. Oregon and Mizzou have done a nice job hanging around the rim in this recruitment, but these three schools closer to home for Fasusi have always been the top group involved here.

Fasusi ranks as the No. 12 prospect nationally in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite, No. 3 offensive tackle, and No. 5 from Texas.
