Texas football behind Oklahoma and A&M for 5-Star OT Michael Fasusi on his decision day

The No. 1 offensive tackle prospect in Texas in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking has been trending toward one of his finalist schools in the last few weeks. Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh has done a tremendous job building great relationships with Fasusi and his family since the Sooners started recruiting him well over a year ago.

The crystal balls entered in the last week from national and Texas-focused 247Sports recruiting reporters and analysts all favor the Sooners to win this recruitment later today.

In fact, it sounds like Texas is running behind in third place in this recruitment after focusing more efforts with other top offensive tackle targets out-of-state in the 2025 class who are deciding very soon. Oklahoma and Texas A&M are reportedly the top two schools to watch entering Fasusi's announcement ceremony on Wednesday.

Oklahoma remains the decisive favorite here, but Texas A&M has pulled off other shockers before with recruiting in the trenches in the past few cycles. It doesn't sound like the Aggies are going away quietly here. Texas A&M really needs a big win with offensive line recruiting this summer on the trail in the 2025 class.

Texas focusing its OL recruiting efforts for the 2025 class on Georgia OT target entering his decision on Friday

Kyle Flood and the Longhorns are in the mix to land the highly touted four-star Loganville (GA) Grayson offensive tackle priority Nick Brooks, who announces on Friday, Aug. 23. Texas holds the slight lead in this recruitment over the USC Trojans and Georgia Bulldogs a couple of days before his decision date.

Brooks has been trending toward Texas over the past couple of weeks. If Texas can secure a commitment from Brooks, that would be a big get to have their first offensive tackle pledge in the boat for 2025 entering the fall on the trail.
