Texas football has stayed relatively injury free in spring camp this year. Outside of a few minor injuries here and there to players who were ultimately able to return to practice quickly thereafter, Texas has fortunately avoided the injury bug for anything too long-term this spring.

Texas football STAR Jahdae Barron was "limited" in spring camp due to a nagging injury, per Steve Sarkisian

Nagging injury issues can always be something that various players deal with during the fall and spring camp as they practice through to get the valuable reps.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian discussed an injury update to one key Longhorns starter on the defensive side of the ball who's had some lingering injury issues this spring. Sarkisian noted in his press conference on April 16 that senior defensive back Jahdae Barron has been "limited" throughout spring ball due to a nagging injury in camp.

Sarkisian trusts Barron to get back to full health and be ready to go for the secondary this fall. Last season, Barron battled lower-body injury issues that limited his snaps during a few games in Big 12 play.

"The history of his time here, he's had nagging things throughout the last couple years. I know it's in the best interest of Texas football to get Jahdae Barron as healthy, fresh and fast as he can be come the fall and the season."

Barron is one of Texas's most experienced and proven defensive backs returning this year. He's a multi-year starter who has been one of the most consistent and solid cover DBs Texas had during Sarkisian and Pete Kwiatkowski's four years on the 40.

It'll obviously be integral that Barron is healthy for this Texas secondary heading into the upcoming season in the SEC in 2024. The schedule gets difficult from the very outset of the 2024 season, including a Week 2 trip to Ann Arbor to face the defending National Champion Michigan Wolverines.
