Kickoff time announced for Texas vs. Georgia

For the first time ever, No. 1 Texas will host No. 5 Georgia for a night game in the SEC under the lights at DKR on Oct. 19.

More details, including the kickoff time, were announced for the highly anticipated matchup at DKR on Oct. 19 between No. 1 ranked Texas football and the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs next weekend. The Texas-Georgia game will be the only contest at home for UT during the month of October.

Texas football will host Georgia in primetime in a gigantic SEC matchup in Week 8 at DKR

The kickoff time between Texas and Georgia on Oct. 19 at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, TX, will be at 6:30 p.m. CT. It was also announced that his high-stakes matchup between Texas and Georgia next week will be broadcast live on ABC in primetime.

This will be the third night game in primetime under the lights at DKR this season for the Longhorns. It will also be the first-ever night game for the Longhorns in conference play in the SEC.

If Texas takes care of business against the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry game this weekend at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, it has a chance to go into the Georgia game undefeated. Texas already stands as the only undefeated team in the SEC, after a multitude of upsets handed shocking losses to top contenders in the conference such as Alabama and Tennessee.

Texas enters Week 7 with an undefeated 5-0 (1-0 SEC) record coming out of the bye week. The Longhorns defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs to get its first-ever SEC win at DKR, by a score of 35-13, ta DKR on Sep. 28.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns also have one ranked win this season, with the convincing 31-12 win on the road at the Big House in Ann Arbor over the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines on Sep. 7.

Week 8 will pit Texas and Georgia against each other in a regular season game for the first time in over a century, since 1958. Texas is 4-1-0 in the all-time series against Georgia on the gridiron, winning the last matchup between these two teams in the Sugar Bowl during the 2018-19 season.
