Nick Brooks, OT

Commitment date: Aug. 23

The big 6-foot-7 and 360-pound four-star Loganville (GA) Grayson offensive tackle Nick Brooks is one of Texas's top priority recruits along the offensive line in the 2025 class late this summer.

Brooks will decide between the USC Trojans, Georgia Bulldogs, and Texas on Aug. 23. Texas has been trending positively in this recruitment, thanks to the consistent communication with Flood and the two successful visits to Austin since spring practice back in April and his official visit in June.

USC is probably the biggest threat to the Longhorns in this recruitment, based on recent reporting here. But I like Texas to win out for Brooks to be the first offensive tackle commit, depending on what happens with five-star Michael Fasusi's announcement a couple of days before Brooks' decision, in the Longhorns 2025 class this summer.

Jonah Williams, ATH/S

Commitment date: Aug. 24

The top safety recruit on the big board for Blake Gideon and the Longhorns late this summer on the trail in the 2025 class is the elite Galveston (TX) Ball five-star Jonah Williams. As recently as a couple of months ago, it looked like the Longhorns were pretty much eliminated in contention for Williams' recruitment.

Momentum swings have been a consistent factor in this recruitment since early this offseason. The LSU Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M Aggies, and Oregon Ducks, have all looked like frontrunners at different points for Williams' recruitment since the start of this offseason and the spring evaluation period in February and March.

Inside Texas' Justin Wells reported on Aug. 16 that Texas continues to have momentum in the race to land Williams' commitment since he made an unofficial visit to Austin for the late-July pool party/BBQ a few weeks ago.
