Head coach Steve Sarkisian and Texas football continued their massive run on the recruiting trail for the 2025 class on the morning of Aug. 30, landing a commitment from the elite five-star Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin wide receiver Jaime Ffrench.

Texas football aiming for its fourth 5-Star commitment in the 2025 class this fall

Ffrench committed to Texas over the Miami Hurricanes, LSU Tigers, and Tennessee Volunteers during an announcement ceremony at his high school on Friday morning. He is the second five-star wide receiver to commit to the Longhorns 2025 class during the month of August.

Sarkisian and the Longhorns staff have now landed three five-star commitments in August, including Ffrench, Galveston (TX) Ball athlete/safety Jonah Williams, and Sachse (TX) wide receiver Kaliq Lockett. That's not to mention the other big commitment the Longhorns landed in the 2025 class recently in the month of August, four-star Loganville (GA) Grayson offensive tackle Nick Brooks.

Now at 19 commitments in the 2025 class, it looks like the Longhorns are on the verge of putting together another top-five-ranked class in the nation in the 247Sports Composite for this cycle.

Here's a prediction of the next 2025 recruit to commit to the Longhorns in this class after Ffrench hopped in on Aug. 30.

Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, LB

Texas is in the mix for one of the highest rated uncommitted high school linebackers in the nation in the 2025 class entering the fall, Manassas (VA) IMG Academy four-star Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng. The No. 5 linebacker recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the On3 Industry Ranking included Texas among his top five finalist schools earlier this summer.

247Sports' Brian Dohn reported on Aug. 27 that Owusu-Boateng has an official visit date set to see the Longhorns host the Georgia Bulldogs at DKR in a highly anticipated SEC matchup on Oct. 19. If Owusu-Boateng does make it to campus for that Texas official visit in a couple of months, that's a good sign that the Longhorns are a legit threat in this recruitment.

Owusu-Boateng is also reportedly taking an official visit to Gainesville this weekend to see the Florida Gators host Miami at The Swamp.

Texas has some connections in this recruitment that are helping them in their efforts on the recruiting trail with Owusu-Boateng going into the fall. Owusu-Boateng's former teammates at IMG Academy, freshman safety Jordon Johnson-Rubell and freshman running back Jerrick Gibson, are reportedly helping recruit him to Austin.

Owusu-Boateng has already taken official visits to see the USC Trojans, Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Ohio State Buckeyes during the summer.
