The man, the myth, the legend. Steve Sarkisian is about to lead the Texas Longhorns into the SEC and their fourth season together.

Sarkisian is one of the highest-paid college football head coaches in the nation but how exactly do his salary and contract break down?

In February, Sarkisian and Texas agreed on a four-year contract, extending his tenure with the Horns until at least 2030.

The extension also raised Sarkisian's guaranteed salary to a whopping $10.3 million.

Also included in Sarkisian's four-year extension is an annual raise of $100,000 which could increase his guarantee to $10.9 million in total.

A final asterisk in the extension is a one-time payout of an additional $300,000 and an annual allotment of 20 personal hours on Texas' private plane.

If the Longhorns win a national championship under Sarkisian's leadership, the head coach is eligible for an additional $1.5 million in bonuses, if not more.

How much is Steve Sarkisian paid annually?

Sarkisian's base salary in 2023 was $5.8 million, which was expected to carry over to 2024.

With the extension and raises, Sarkisian's annual salary increased to $6.2 million.

Throughout his tenure at Texas, Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns have gone 25-14 overall.

Last season, the Horns earned their first-ever berth into the College Football Playoffs after going 11-1 in the regular season and defeating the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Big 12 Championship game.

The Longhorns lost to the Washington Huskies in the CFP Semifinals and Sarkisian's contract extension came just one month later.
