The 2024 NCAA Tournament bracket was announced on Selection Sunday (March 17), which included Texas basketball getting the seven-seed in the Midwest Region. Texas faces the winner of the 10-seed play-in game between the Colorado State Rams and Virginia Cavaliers in the Round of 64.

Texas has now made the NCAA Tournament four consecutive years. The Longhorns want to extend their streak of consecutive NCAA Tournaments with at least one win to four years.

What is the schedule for the Longhorns in March Madness as the seven-seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament?

Texas basketball March Madness schedule

The dates for the Round of 64 in the Midwest Region for the NCAA Tournament have been revealed, as have most of the matchups.

Texas's first round matchup in the Midwest Region takes place on March 21 at the Spectrum Center (home of the NBA's Charlotte Hornets).

The Round of 64 matchup for the Longhorns will be determined in the play-in games on March 19. Virginia faces Colorado State on March 19 the play-in game to face the Longhorns in the Round of 64 at UD Arena in Dayton, OH.

When will each round of the NCAA Tournament be played?

Assuming Texas wins its Round of 64 matchup against either Virginia or Colorado State, it would move onto the Round of 32. The second-round matchups in March Madness take place on March 23 and 24.

Here's a look at the remaining schedule for each round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

Second Round/Round of 32: March 23 and 24

Sweet 16: March 28 and 29

Elite Eight: March 30 and 31

Final Four: April 6

National Championship Game: April 8

Who could Texas play in the next rounds of the NCAA Tournament?

If Texas wins its Round of 64 matchup against the winner of the play-in game between Virginia and Colorado State, it will face the winner of the two-seed Tennessee Volunteers and 15-seed Saint Peter's in the Round of 32. That could pit Terry and the Longhorns against former Texas head coach Rick Barnes and the Vols in the second round.

There are also two other Big 12 teams in the Midwest Region, including the four-seed Kansas Jayhawks and nine-seed TCU Horned Frogs. The soonest Texas would face any other Big 12 team in the NCAA Tournament would be in the Elite Eight, if Kansas or TCU went on a run and upset some teams (including the one-seed Purdue Boilermakers) in the first two rounds of the tourney.
